Help on dating an Italian?
I am just getting into a relationship with a girl from Italy. She is 29, still lives with her family, and I am 30. Things look to get serious, but I have never dated a woman that was not American. I know the best policy is to just be myself, but are there certain relationship expectations that I should be culturally aware of? I would like to try and avoid any miscommunication and misinterpretations due to cultural differences. In short, what is the best way to an Italian girl's heart?

- You better be nice to her parents. That she will be looking for. The father will secretly be watching how you treat her as well if you respect him. Treat her always like a lady as well as her mother. You'll be fine.
- forget about the girl's heart.....if the family is not into you, you're basically screwed. From my experience most Italian females are extremely family oriented. They are especially influenced by their moms. (they normally tend to wear the pants in the family). Oh, and one more thing, if your skin color is a shade of brown or black, just enjoy the ride because it will be over soon if you know what i mean...unless you have serious cash$$$!!!!

- In general the best way to an Italian girls heart is to show her respect .Respect her as a strong woman. She'll never play the dumb blonde role or act needy and cheap . Extra points for chivalry..open the door for her , pull her chair out at dinner, bring her flowers. Be interested in all facets of her life from her religion to her family members. Italians are generally very passionate and expressive of their emotions, So, I suggest if you're confused about something ask her to explain it to you.Showing a genuine interest in her family culture is sure to win points. Italian woman are smart so don't try to pull the wool over her eyes. If she senses you're being dishonest or are not sincere you may loose her and you probably won't get a second chance because generally speaking our beauty and intelligence are magnets for most men! Yes, I'm an Italiano ! And French...Have fun, laugh alot be very polite to her parents.
