what is a doppia in an italian hotel.?
the hotel offers rooms (single, double, suites) and doppias with no explanation of what these are and how they may differ from a "normal" room. I have made a reservation for a double room and a doppia. I agree that doppia is double in Italian so I wonder of one of these rooms will in fact be twin bedded rather than double.

- bit confused coz doppia is double
- "Doppia" literally means "double", but actually in Italy is a "twin room", a room for two guests with two beds, while "matrimoniale" (from "matrimonio", "wedding") is a room with one single bed for two guests.
