Why Italy

what is a doppia in an italian hotel.?

the hotel offers rooms (single, double, suites) and doppias with no explanation of what these are and how they may differ from a "normal" room. I have made a reservation for a double room and a doppia. I agree that doppia is double in Italian so I wonder of one of these rooms will in fact be twin bedded rather than double.

Public Comments

  1. bit confused coz doppia is double
  2. "Doppia" literally means "double", but actually in Italy is a "twin room", a room for two guests with two beds, while "matrimoniale" (from "matrimonio", "wedding") is a room with one single bed for two guests.
