How can I impress his (Italian)Mother ?
I have been dating my boyfriend since the fall of 2005 and I am going to Italy to meet his parents in April of this year and I am very nervous because I want to make a good impression, since he is very close to his family. So does anyone have any advice on how I can impress his Mother ? Details: -I am 21(Junior in college) and he is 22(Senior) -We met in college -He is Italian and his whole family lives in Italy(He is just going to college in the US) -He is super close to his Mom, he calls her almost every single day (which bugs me at times) -He also always talks about his Mom and how good her food is, and when I cook for him, he says "that is good but my Mom...(makes it this way, adds this, ect.)"

- i'm italian to.. umm just be urself... if you know italian, it may help... spend time cooking with his mom... just get to know the family... italians are very picky about family.. to us.. family comes first...soo just be ur self.. if you have a good personality... your fine.. good luck.. italy is beautiful...
- You can impress her by "being yourself". Don't concentrate on trying to be accepted. Just make sure you are well mannered. Allow them to form a positive opinion of you. Don't try to put on. Cause in the end they will find out that you have been a phony all along.

Good Luck! firstly, find out how traditional she is, what region she is from can make a difference...2nd...all mothers love their sons...but Italian mothers worship theirs...and ...they can do no wrong! you will never be as good as "Mama"... i have been there and its difficult... i wasnt catholic enough i wasnt a good enough cook and when she found out i wasnt going to stay home and have babies....the lasagna flew!!! on the other hand...they are passionate women, and when they love you...it comes from the heart.
- Just say that you're a big Sopranos fan, OMG, don't say that. Just be yourself, because if you try to be something you're not, after that you'll be role playing for the rest of your life.
