Why are some people still against interracial dating?

I can't speak for all African-American men, but I'll speak for myself. I've been asked this question a lot, but only by African-American women. I've dated women from many different ethnic backgrounds- Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese,Cambodian, Indian, Sri Lankan,Afgani, Australian, Greek, Italian, Irish, Ukrainian, Russian, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Brazilian,Portuguese, Apache, Navajo, and of course, African American. That being said, I find that women of different cultural backgrounds have many beautiful things about them to offer. Every woman is different, and every culture is distinct. That's what makes life and love so exciting. If you love people then you must love what makes people distinct. Every woman has something wonderful to offer. Every culture has a distinct beauty to it. I've found that when I took my "racial blinders" off, and was willing to see that beauty, not only did it give me more dating opportunities (who DOESN'T want that???) but it also OPENED UP THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD TO ME. I find all women gorgeous, and I'll never go back to being closed to that beauty. The question that many African-American women have asked is "why do you date (white, asian, latino, etc.) women?"

2. we black women want the black men for ourselves and get upset when some woman from another race gets him especially the good intelligent attractive ones and then we are left with the ones that nobody wants

I think its best just feel like you are happy and the person you with is happy and people are always going to hate and have something critical to say so don't let it bother you.

11. Because there are alot of bigots out there. Personalities and backgrounds are more important to me. Strangely enough, I find that alot of black people can be bigots also. I've been subjected to alot of racial slurs from black men and women when I've been out with a black female friend.

14. Curious, I think you need to remember that interracial relationships are only recently being accepted in America as a norm. There's a lot of old-fashioned folks down south who aren't ready to see Marsha and Jerome holding hands while walking the streets of Charleston.

A lot of times black women just dont understand the mind of black men in america. Its already hard enough getting to the point that you feel like a man. And by sisters beaing so Naturally strong, Its a subconcious battle going on in black on black relationships. A man wants to be a man, feel like a man in his own home. Black women dont understand that other races of women respect their men as a man (Not being a servent) but respectful to him. We want to feel like men in our homes so we choose to be with other races of women. And then blk women get mad because they see you with a white woman. 17. I don't know why either. I am in an interracial marriage, and am very happy with it. Sure, there are people who do not agree with our relationship, but we don't care. "They don't pay our bills." It astounds me at times how people will go out of their way to rationalize their prejudices. They say, "Interracial relationships are wrong because society will be very hard on an interracial couple." Society is hard on everybody. If it's not about your race, it will be about something else. Life is not fair, and fair is not equal. But life is beautiful, and I agree with you-- all people are beautiful.
