How can I learn Italian quickly?
I am going to Italy this summer and I know very little of the language. What are some sites that I can learn some common Italian phrases and questions? If you have any CD's that are good for learning that you'd recommend, please tell me the name of them. Please also tell me the name of any books, sites, etc...

- Perhaps it is better to buy an elementary book, dictionary and CDs and study from them. Italians are, however, very talkative people, especially in the South, and their language is very musical that it comes in the ear quickly. So listen hard and repeat. Spero che ti trovo bene in bella Italia e salutala per me :). http://www.word2word.com/coursead.html#italian http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/Learn/Italian.asp
- I lived in Italy for year and all the people I knew spoke English to me, but Italian to each other. I got the book 'Italian in 10 Minutes a Day' an donce I had finished that, I could understand enough of what people said to learn NEW things from listening to them. Although listening the best way, it is not always possible. If you do not know people who speak Italian, you can buy a good work book or CD. There is a good Yahoo! Group I am in called 'Studiamo Italiano' (you can see that here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/studiamoitaliano/?yguid=218483748 ) which is nice because you can talk to others who are learning the language. If you have iTunes, there are some podcasts that you can listen to that teach Italian. One thing I learned is that learning a language is fun and pretty easy if you WANT to do it. Anything you WANT to do is worth the effort. Never push your self too far so that it no longer is fun and enjoyable nd becomes a chore that you must do! Have fun in Italy! Good luck!
- go to Italy:)
