  1. Not really a website, but Rosetta Stone software is great for learning all languages. It is worth the investment, I think. I havent used the Italian one, but I used the Spanish and I liked it.
  2. Well, get some basic grammar knowledge (if you didn't already) trying these sites: http://italian.about.com/library/fare/blfarehome.htm after it you could find yourself a nice online italian buddy, it helped me a lot with perfecting my language. Btw.. you couldn't have chosen better, Italy and italians are awesome
  3. There are several online sites to learn Italian for free. Here are a few: http://www.june29.com/~chambers/Italian/ http://academic.brooklyn.cuny.edu/modlang/carasi/site/pageone.html http://abruzzo2000.com/course/index.html http://www.locuta.com/eclass.html http://www.professorgio.com/index.php http://www.italiantutorial.com/ http://italian.speak7.com/ http://www.cyberitalian.com/cgi-local/index_visitors.cgi My husband and I have learned Spanish and Russian. If you would like to explore other methods of learning I would also suggest these products that have helped us. We use BOTH the Rosetta Stone (a computer program) and the Pimsleur Method (audio cd's). These two are the best things on the market. Each approaches learning the language a different way. And I have found using both really helps round out my learning. The Pimsleur method is super fast and the best to start with. You are given 30 minute lessons you listen and speak with. You start with basic and keep adding until you are able to have a full conversion. Rosetta Stone will help with reading and the grammer. I found this to help complete what I was learning with Pimsleur. If you have to choose only one.. go with Pimsleur. You will be able to have conversations very quickly.
  4. Here are my suggestions: http://www.learnitalianpod.com http://www.impariamo.com http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/italian/index.shtml http://www.learnitalian.bravehost.com/ (languamedia radio) http://italian-language-lessons.blogspot.com/ I've used all these sites (the last one is my blog). They are really great sites to learn the language. Sincerely, Keith http://language.engagedthinking.com
