How can I learn Italian?
I want to learn Italian, but I don't have any money I can spend. How can I learn free? I want to learn Italian because it interests me more than French or Spanish or one of those languages. Also, though, I would like to learn Latin.

- Go to Little Italy in your area and work for one of their Italian restaurants. I'm sure someone there is Italian and you can learn from them.
- The same way I,Italian, learnt English.I bought some papers with tapes and started learning through them. But first of all for us here in Italy English was a subject in school and that gave me the bases. Then I moved to London to attend a scholl of English. If i can ask,why do you wanna learn italian?
- Try the local library. If you have a tape player, they should have some books with tapes that will help. There are also courses on DVD. I recommend Link Word Italian, the Berlitz course, and Wicked Italian, if they have them. They may also have free courses at the local community college / continuing education center. If you're unemployed, retired or on a low income, they may also let you take paid courses for free. There's an alright course online if you have no library access. http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/italian/index.shtml Also, it's not hard to pass for a student at most universities. They usually don't know who they're students are, and as long as you don't look nervous, you can usually walk into lectures unnoticed. edit: also practice any way you can. Find Italian podcasts, an Italian pen pal, if you have satellite Italian TV (sometimes on short wave you can get Italian radio). Put up an advert on University billboards for an Italian conversation partner. There are plenty who want to help you. In bocca al lupo!
