Why Italy
I want to learn Italian....What do i do?
Hi, I speak English and Spanish and would like to learn Italian. I know absolutely nothing about Italian.....Where do I go to learn? I need to start at the very basics.... My city offers no Italian classes and I know noone that speaks the language. Any Ideas? Thanks I don't have a diploma....the local college will not accept me into any classes.. : (

- Check out the Rosetta Stone language programs. Everyone I know who has used them swear by them.

- the local community colleges should have italian classes, and as long as you arent taking classes to earn a degree, meaning you just want to take the class for fun, you should be able to take the class at a cheaper rate. just go to the website of a community college in your area and see what they offer. Then call a counselor monday and tell them you just want to take a class for fun, not for credit.
- There is a program called Rosetta Stone. Honestly the best way to learn is by usage. If you can, find a college that offers it or request it at the local community college and see how it works. I speak it and it's easier for me because I live in New Jersey where there are a lot of us Italians
- go to your local library. they will most likely have italian cassette tapes that you can stick in you car or whatever you want. my mom learned that way. and now she's able to speak italian fluently, and she went to Italy a while ago, and could communicate perfectly because of these cassette tapes.
- Look into taking a community college Italian course. Most community colleges offer very basic language classes, as well as intermidiate and advanced levels. I myself am taking French courses at a community college. Some people in the classes have experience with the language and others do not. But anyone wanting to get to the next level has to take it.
- How about going onto google and making a serch For Italian classes. If this doesn't work than I don't know.
