Going to Cannes in March...should I also go to Italy (Venice, Florence, Rome) or France and London? My sister and I have a 4 night stay pre-booked for Cannes from March 20-24 (she's 30, I'm 25). We have til March 31 to explore another place in Europe (about 7 add'l days). We were planning to take the train and do a country-wide tour of Italy, hitting Venice, Florence, and Rome (each for about 2 nights, on our own- no tour groups). My thinking is we may not go to that area of Europe for a while, so it'd be good to take this chance to visit Italy. Transportation question - Venice, Italy ??? I am travelling to Venice later this week for a long weekend. I have been investigating how to get from the airport to the hotel. A big confusion has arisen. Am I completely wrong here? The standard waterbus Vaporetto appears to be the cheapest way to go and also the fastest. Hotel is by the Vallaresso stop. It appears to be 5 Euro and 30 minutes. The more expensive option is the Alilaguna which costs 10 Euros but seems to be a 1 hour 15 minute trip. Advice or clarification appreciated.
