It is one where he painted an entire room by lying down on certain things so he could paint the ceiling. I am asking about what its name was. BA in Italian? What can you do after graduating from a 4-yr university with a BA in the Italian language? I'm wondering what practical uses it could have if anyone knows?? I'm going to be majoring in art history but also interested in Italian. I've been told that I should leave college with some "practical" degree..as in something that I can get a job with after the 4yrs. Can you say these paths are "practical" then, in that sense...like I CAN go somewhere with them while going to grad school? Just a lingering thought based off of what I've heard.
Comparison of Italian Futurism vs. Russian Futurism; does anyone champion Russian claims of originality? I've always been intrigued by those twin strains of Futurism, Italian and Russian. The fact that they were art movements that had a political influence(especially Italian Futurism), the fact that they were crystalized in poetic thought, the fact that they took as their cue the speed of change in industrialized society, all of this amazes me. Italian Futurism, being first on the scene, claimed proprietary rights over the Russian brand; that is, on a purely artistic--not political--basis, and this was a claim volubly disputed by Mayakovsky, Lunacharsky, Kulbin, Burliuk, and most of the rest of the Russian Futurists. In fact, when F.T. Marinetti visited Russia, he was not well received. I must, however, give credit for the original ideas of Futurism to the Italians. Marinetti's Futurist Manifesto predated the Russian's "Slap To The Public's Taste"(The Russian Futurist Manifesto) by two years. Are there any partisans for the Russian claims, and what reasons do they give?

Why is it that when you enter an Indian home, you find many object of art related to their religion, yet...? ...in a Christian home there is usually nothing at all. The reason I ask is that there is a great deal of beautiful art, especially Italian paintings, which would grace a Christian home, especially since Italy is a great bastion of Christianity. I simply can't imagine being able to resist purchasing fine art prints and hanging them up .... at least in the front hallway where they would look beautiful with a vase of fresh flowers or some plants and a lovely lamp. I just looked online and found some fine art prints. Here are some of the titles of the paintings which would look grace the atmosphere: Fra Angelico (1395-1455) **************************** (musical angel series, some of) Angel with a violin Angel playing a trumpet Angel holding a trumpet (at least 1 more is available: Angel with a drum) ***************************** The Annunciation; circa 1430-32 Detail of Heaven: The Last Judgment Not one is the least bit upsetting or tragic. Peace
The Art of Making Love !? The Art of Making Love: Read and learn The Italian man said, "Last week, my wife and I had great sex. I rubbed her body all over with olive oil, we made passionate love, and she screamed for five full minutes at the end. The Frenchman boasted, "Last week when my wife and I had sex, I rubbed her body all over with butter. We then made passionate love and she screamed for fifteen minutes. The Jewish man said, "Well, last week my wife and I also had sex. I rubbed her body all over with schmaltz (chicken fat). We made love, and she screamed for over six hours. The other two were stunned. The amazed Frenchman asked, "What could you have possibly done to make your wife scream for six hours?"テつ The Jewish man said, "I wiped my hands on the bedspread."

Have you ever noticed that Indian homes usually have objects of art related to their religion, while in ...? ...Christian homes, there is seldom anything at all? I find it a matter of great curiosity, for want of a better way of putting it. There are available wonderful art prints that would grace a Christian home, especially Italian paintings, Italy being a bastion of Christianity. One of my favourite painters is Fra Angelico. His series of musical angels is absolutely beautiful and make a lovely set together on a wall -- or even one is lovely. One is of an angel with a trumpet, another with a drum, a third with a violin; there are more of them... (they would make a great present!) Also (Fra Angelico, still) The Annunciation, circa 1430-32 Detail of Heaven; The Last Judgment ....both simply beautiful I should think that one might at least hang some lovely prints in the front hallway, and put a vase of flowers and a pretty lamp. One needs to grace one's home in some way, isn't it so? Art lends a lovely aura all its own. Peace & Love
How do you say this in ITALIAN (Job interview)? I'll go to a job interview at an italian culture/business related company. The interview'll bemore likely be conducted in my language, but since it's an italian culture/business related company, I want to be prepared to say something in italian in case they tell me to talk about something in Italian. Could someone tell me how to say the following in CORRECT Italian? "I'm very interested in art and cultural exchange, and that's why I applied for your company. If I am hired, I will learn and acquire all the skills and knowledge required for the job ASAP and do my best to make a contribution to this company. As for Italian, I studied the language at university and used it on a daily basis at an Italian company I worked for. Although I have not spoken Italian for more than 10 years now, I started studying it from the day I sent my resume to you and will continue doing in order to do my job properly. I would appreciate it if you could give positive consideratin to hire me." I meant "continue doing so (continue studying Italian)"
What effect did Art Nouveau have on 20th c. classical music, and which composers influenced the A. N. mvmt.? Hi, I am trying to break into classical music and am finding it difficult to find anything I like. Most of what I have heard tends to come across too 'academic' - frivilous display of technique with no underlying expression or reflection of the intricacies of emotion. On the flip side, motion picture soundtracks are the opposite to me, silly and melodramatic - or insincere. I find that visual works from the Art Nouveau mvmt. strike a powerful balance between the head and the heart that I am hoping to discover in classical music. At this point, I would love suggestions of even just a specific work or too that demonstrates the same intelligent sensibilities these artists had. Do you know of specific musicians / pieces that influenced this mvmt in visual art. Or gifted composers who were contemporary to the mvmt or came shortly afterwards? 2nd to art nouveau, I love the italian renaissance. Same question there... which works by Bach / Mozart / Beethoven would I like?
