What are German, Japanese and Italian history students taught about their countries during WW2? Here, we called the triple axis with Hitler, Hirohito and Mussolini evil, world-conquering dictators that we fought against for freedom and human rights. Do students in those countries learn the same? What do the Japanese teach their students about the bomb dropped on Hiroshima by the US? Sorry, Hirohito wasn't a dictator, but he was leading an empire pushing toward imperialism through invasions.

Italian Family History? Sorry If I sound confusing by this. But is there a way to find out the history of a family somewhere online, by searching by the last name? I grew up never knowing my father but I do know things about him. One of those things is that I know he's Italian and his last name. I have been searching for a few years to find stuff about my Italian herritage, he was 100% Italian so I know that I have alot of Italian blood in me. So I wanted to know if there was somewhere I could just type in the last name and find out where the ancestors of that name came from, like what part of Italy. I would perfer it to be free of cost but if there is somthing where I can find that out, i doubt it would be.

I really love Greek Mythology, so really anything to do with Greece would be super! Thanks!

Why is there such a complaint about Black History Month? I'm mean everyone has their own thing, why is Black History Month always complained about so much? Hispanic history is in Sept 15. Black history is Feburary Asian history is in May Women's history is in March Native American history is in November Gay history is in Feburary in the UK. Saint Patrick Day is for the Irish! Italian History Month is October http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqZKs2oDRcq4kKbR8Lw4sIzz7BR.?qid=20070201192033AAFaO1W
If the Chinese invented pasta, try putting some Italian gravy on their slimy noodles- Italian pasta rules! U? I hate having to listen to people claim that the chinese invented pasta-Yeah Right!! Go put some gravy on their slimy noodles and get back to me- they may have made the noodle (Whoopie), but the Italians invented P-A-S-T-A, Got It?! People who say they're same thing never even stop to think about the difference in taste. People are so jealous of the rich Italian history- Some of the greatest thinkers in the world were Italian, oh yeah and anyone remember a little thing called the Roman Empire when we ruled the Civilized World for over 900 years (no other nation can even come close to that!) So to all u Italian haters I've hoped I set your ***'s straight! What are your thoughts? Calling all Italians for back up!
Why is there no white, chinese, indian, italian, irish, english, arabian, japanese, etc. history months? Native americans were also forced out of their homelands. They were killed, backstabbed, we gave them diseases, made them walk all the way to Oklahoma because we didn't want them on the east coast (Trail of Tears) just to name a few injustices. They were here long before we were. I think that they were discriminated against much more than black people. They were not forced out of their land. They actually sold themselves into slavery. The native americans did not have a choice. Don't get me wrong, I am certainly not racist, I just think that there should be some fairness shown to other groups.
Should our Nation change direction in the recognition and teaching of ALL ethnic groups throughout history? It is fact the U.S.A is a poppourri of enthicities from all over the world, with the exception of the aboriginal native Americans (the Indians). I want poeople to really think about this question with open minds! If let's say enthnic groups in America or anywhere in the world have a day, a week or a month designated to that ethnic group and/or exclusively that groups role in history , then are we as a Nation not only promoting segragation but also supporting it with the way we recognize and celebrat???? What about Asian History Week? How about Italian History Month? Or Egyptian History Day? I'm sure you get the point! Throughout history I'm sure each-along with many other of ethnic backgrounds have contributed to American history with great people who have achieved great things while overcoming adversity? To make America even stronger why not Keep history and teach history in its appropriate context, and stop dividing our own nation by ethnic backgroud?
Is black history Racist? PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU ANSWER! Hispanic history is in Sept 15. Black history is Feburary Asian history is in May Women's history is in March Native American history is in November Gay history is in Feburary in the UK. Saint Patrick Day is for the Irish! Italian History Month is October- Jewish History is october Irish History Month is March So, what's your Argument NOW that I provided you the REAL FACTS?
why would white people want a white history month? First of all, THERE IS A WHITE HISTORY!!! it's called Irish history, german, history, French history, Italian history and so forth...... Black history is not a threat to white history. All black history is about how black coped with America and the inventions and stuff. The reason why there will never be a white history is because it's everyday history. everyday you learn about the pilgrims, the scientists, the brits, the french, and blah, blah, blah. we call in black history because the only thing in common is the skin color. most of the people don't know what part of africa THEY CAME FROM! also, white people were never opposed AS SEVERE AS US. gay pride, black pride, asian pride, and latino pride was all opposed by the majority of white people. besides, it would be nice to learn about another culture that influenced the world. Black history is not a special privilege or racist. What's racist is that "so called American textbooks" exclude this history out or write ONE paragraph on it.
